One Source Advantage Plus Vehicle Service Contract Program

Extended Service Contracts

Purchasing an Extended Service Contract is a Good Investment

Your vehicle is one of your biggest financial investments and you need to protect it. The growing complexity of today's vehicles along with the rising costs of automotive repairs can make diagnostics and unexpected repairs a major drain on your bank account -- the purchase of an extended vehicle service contract has become a necessity. A major vehicle breakdown is never convenient and rarely anticipated. An extended vehicle service contract is one of the best investments you can make to protect yourself from expensive repair bills and ensure your vehicle is always in excellent mechanical condition.

Enjoy Peace of Mind

Avoid surprises and costly auto repairs while protecting your investment.

High Quality and Affordable Service Contracts Pay for Themselves

A service contract helps to offset rising repair costs at a very affordable price. It's a smart investment to pay just pennies a day for full coverage -- a small cost that will soundly protect your vehicle investment and free you from major out-of-pocket repair fees. The cost of just one repair often exceeds the price of your entire extended warranty!

Your Service Contract Increases the Resale Value of Your Car

Your service contract is transferable! Vehicle buyers want peace of mind when purchasing a used vehicle. A vehicle with an extended service contract usually sells at a premium.

One Source Advantage Plus Extended Service Contracts

There are many vehicle service contract providers to choose from today, and as a consumer it is important that you do your homework to insure that you have selected a Service Contract Company that will provide you complete "peace-of-mind" knowing you have one of the safest and most reliable Extended Service Contracts available should your vehicle need major mechanical or electrical repairs.

If you select One Source Advantage Plus you will have complete "peace-of-mind". Unlike many extended service contract providers that pull you in with low rates and then provide you with poor coverage, the One Source Advantage Plus program was designed to be different. Unlike dealers and direct marketers where profit is the overriding concern, we are concerned with quality and value. The One Source Advantage Plus program is custom designed to provide you with unparalleled quality, safety, coverage, features, and competitive pricing.

Purchasing an extended service contract for your vehicle is an important decision for most of us. Purchasing an extended service contract that actually covers items that fail is even more important.

Nationally Underwritten by an "A" Rated Insurance Company

Every One Source Advantage Plus service contract is backed "dollar one" by an "A" rated insurance company whose name you know and trust. This is extremely important because the insurance company that backs your extended service contract will determine if it will be there when you need it. Many extended service contract providers utilize risk retention insurance, reinsurance, and stop-loss insurance to back their extended service contracts. Though popular and widely used, these insurance practices can leave your extended service contract at risk in the future.

Any Extended Service Contract you purchase from One Source Advantage Plus is 100% safe. The insurance company we use, one of the largest and most respected insurance companies in the United States, pays all claims from the first claim dollar. In other words, we do not utilize risk retention, reinsurance, or stop-loss insurance -- just old fashion dollar one coverage from an insurance company whose name you know and trust.

Unparalleled Coverage

One Source Advantage Plus provides only two levels of coverage -- the very best and highest coverage in each level. The first is our Platinum plan which is true "exclusionary" coverage for vehicles that are six years old or newer and have less than 85,000 miles on the odometer. The second is our Gold plan which is an extremely high level of "component" coverage for vehicles that are ten years old or newer and have less than 125,000 miles on the odometer.

Our Platinum "exclusionary" plan, also known as "bumper-to-bumper" style coverage, provides the best protection available. A quality exclusionary plan should always be used whenever possible. An important bit of advice: If your vehicle is six years old or newer and has less than 85,000 miles on the odometer, you should purchase a quality exclusionary plan and not a "component" plan. A quality exclusionary plan covers the cost of repairs for approximately 10,000 to 12,000 of the manufacturer installed mechanical and electrical parts, or any vehicle part that is not excluded from coverage. The parts that are excluded and not covered are usually routine maintenance and appearance parts, but some companies may also list other parts and exclude them from being covered. We feel that our Platinum plan has fewer exclusions and better overall coverage than most other exclusionary plans currently on the market.

"Component" plans come in many different varieties. Some plans only cover the engine and powertrain, some only cover some of the electrical components but do not cover the cruise control module, the electronic fuel management controls, the keyless entry system, etc. Some plans cover several steering components but do not cover the steering column shaft, the steering shaft couplings, etc. Our Gold Component plan has one of the most extensive component listing and coverage's on the market.

In addition, there are three very important items that must be included in any service plan you buy: overheating, wear and tear, and seals and gasket coverage. If any one of these three items is listed as an exclusion in an exclusionary contract or not listed as a coverage in a component contract, you should think twice before buying that contract. The service provider would not be responsible for these repairs and you will possibly have to pay thousands of dollars out of your pocket. None of these three items are listed in our exclusionary listing and all three are covered in our component coverage. There is nothing worse than having a service manager tell you, "Sorry, but the repair you need is not covered in the extended service contract you have."

Here are the problems that can result from a failure caused by one of these three items:

Thermostat -- Many of us may think it's not important if thermostat is not covered. A $100 part -- I can live with that. But, unfortunately, that’s not the issue; it goes much deeper than that. In the world of extended service contracts, if the thermostat is not a covered component and it causes the engine to overheat thus destroying the engine, the engine would not be covered. That's because the thermostat was the reason the failure occurred. Thermostats account for over 30% of all overheating problems. By not providing coverage for thermostats an extended service contract provider can lower their rates due to the fact that they will not have to pay many overheating related claims. But will you, the policy holder, be happy when you have to pay $3,000 to $5,000 out of your own pocket for a non-covered repair?

Wear and Tear -- If Wear and Tear is not covered that means only covered components that physically break will be covered. If a part does not break but wears to the point of failing it would not be covered by a policy excluding "Wear and Tear". 25 percent of all failures are related to wear issues not physical breakage. Once again by not providing coverage for wear and tear a Extended Service Contract provider can lower their rates due to the fact that they will pay fewer claims. But will you the policy holder be happy when you have to come out of pocket for a non covered repair?

Seals and Gaskets -- If seals and gaskets are not covered that means that if a seal or a gasket is the reason the failure occurs the failure is not covered. What does this mean? It means that if a head gasket in an engine fails and lets coolant into the engine, which in turn will destroy the engine, the engine failure will not be covered because gasket was the reason the failure occurred. Once again, by not providing coverage for seals and gaskets an extended service contract provider can lower their rates due to the fact that they will pay fewer claims. But will you, the policy holder, be happy when you have to come out of pocket for a non covered repair?

Any extended service contract you purchase from One Source Advantage Plus covers these potential problems. Compare our contract to any other you may be considering and see for yourself.

Longer Time and Mileage

Today most people are keeping their vehicles for seven years, eight years, and even longer, and driving 100,000 miles or more. Both of our service plans are designed to provide the longest possible coverage when you need protection the most -- when the odometer is close to 100,000 miles. We also provide the additional years needed to reach the extended miles. And we start your extended service coverage from the day you sign the contract, not from the date the vehicle was new.

Here are a few examples: For a new 2010 vehicle with 4,000 miles on the odometer we provide additional coverage for 60 months, 72 months or 84 months to 100,000 miles; For a 2008 vehicle with 35,000 miles we provide additional coverage up to 84 months and 100,000 miles; For a 2004 vehicle with 84,000 miles we provide an additional 49 months and an additional 49,000 miles for an odometer reading of 133,000, All the above would have our Platinum Exclusionary coverage.

For a 2001 vehicle with 94,000 miles on the odometer our coverage provides an additional 36 months or 36,000 miles to a odometer reading of 130,000; For a 1999 vehicle with 124,000 miles on the odometer we provide an additional 36 months or 36,000 miles to a odometer reading of 160,000. All these vehicles would have our top quality Gold Component coverage.

Fast, Friendly Claim Handling Process

Every claim is handled by one of the nation’s oldest and most respected administrators. Repairs are easy. Just take your vehicle in or have it towed to any licensed repair facility in the United States. Present your One Source Advantage Plus service contract to the service professional who in turn will contact our claims department. Since our administrator pays retail parts and labor and uses all of the major labor time guides, licensed repair facilities accept our administrator’s VISA credit card and take payment over the phone with the VISA credit card as soon as the vehicle is repaired.

You Only Pay Deductible You Selected

Your only cash outlay is the deductible you selected. If desired you can upgrade to a zero deductible option where you’ll never reach into your pocket for a covered repair. We cover parts, labor and even sales tax, if applicable. Each repair visit, no matter how many items need to be fixed, will only require payment of one deductible. Plus, there is no paperwork and no limit on the number of claims you may have.

Full Roadside Assistance Benefits

One Source Advantage Plus provides additional roadside assistance benefits with every extended service contract we provide. You will be reimbursed for road service expenses, up to $75 (in excess of any amount covered by the manufacturer’s warranty) related to a disablement (towing, out of gas, locked out, tire repair) during the term of the coverage you selected. In addition, a rental car allowance is also provided as follows:

If you purchased the platinum coverage, you will be reimbursed up to $45 per day for a maximum of five days for a same day rental (immediately effective when your vehicle is accepted for a covered repair).

If you purchased the gold coverage, you will be reimbursed up to $35 per day for a maximum of five days for a same day rental (immediately effective when your vehicle is accepted for a covered repair).

All rental reimbursements are for base rental charges incurred from a licensed rental car agency or authorized dealer. Mileage fees, taxes, insurance fees, extension for parts delays, additional days of rental due to holidays and inspections are not included.

Extensive Value Added Benefits

Your policy includes two unique and sought after benefits. These benefits are valued at over $600 and provide you with exceptional protection.

Vehicle Anti-Theft System Protection

You receive an anti-theft protection program which helps to prevent the theft of your vehicle and aid in the recovery in the event a theft does occur. This theft protection system permanently marks the vehicle's body parts (trunk, hood and doors) with labels that leave indelible identification numbers on the vehicle's body parts that can only be seen with ultra-violet light. The identification numbers are registered in a national database and can be scanned by law enforcement officials to trace the vehicle's ownership. Should your vehicle be stolen and not returned within 30 days, an included anti-theft guarantee will pay you $2,500. Most major insurers provide a 10 to 15 percent discount on your auto insurance each year for providing this protection. Most dealers charge up to $500 for this type of protection.

Personal Identity Theft Protection

You now have the peace of mind that comes from knowing a professional is standing ready to help restore your good name should identity theft strike. Should you become a victim of identity theft, you'll receive one year of the following benefits under this Program:

  • An Identity Theft Recovery Advocate to help you recover your good name and rightful credit history.
  • A Recovery Guide that includes activation forms and instructions for immediate action.
  • A Personal Recovery Plan.
  • Fraud alerts at the three major credit bureaus.
  • A review of your credit reports from all three bureaus to identify fraudulent activity.
  • Assistance in completing an Identity Theft Affidavit and Declaration of Fraud to establish your rights as a victim.
  • Contact with the Social Security Administration, US Postal Service, Department of Motor Vehicles, etc., as applicable, to address any misuse of official documentation of your identity.
  • Research and documentation of all fraudulent transactions, false accounts, or contracts signed with creditors, banks, utility companies, leasing agents, medical facilities, etc.
  • Management of your recovery until it can be confirmed that your pre-identity theft status has been restored, no matter how long it takes.
  • Post-recovery follow-up for 12 full months to address any additional fraudulent activity that may surface later.
  • Up to $5,000 in reimbursed expenses that may be incurred while recovering from identity theft, including reimbursement of lost wages of up to $500 per week for up to four weeks. Zero deductible!

Many identity theft protection companies like "Lifelock" charge up to $225 a year for this level of protection.

For prices, please contact your financial institution or contact us and we will provide you the name of the participating financial institution closest to you.
